THE DESIGN INTENDS TO FIND THE SOLUTION TO THE BIG QUESTION, HOW A ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL IS GOING TO CRITICALLY AFFECT THE SOCIOCULTURAL CONTEXT OF PANADURA? HOW IS GOING TO CHANGE THE STAGNATION IN ARCHITECTURAL CURRICULUM, WHICH WAS EXACERBATED BY THE COVID-19? BUT AS THE PROJECT DEVELOPED, INTO SOMETHING MUCH MORE SIMPLE THAN THAT.IT ULTIMATELY BECAME THE RETOLD NARRATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A BUILDING, ITS PROCESS AND ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS.
THIS BUILDING INCORPORATES THE CORE IDEOLOGIES OF THE DESIGN-BUILD CONCEPT, AND EXPRESSES THE TECTONIC BEAUTY OF AN ONGOING CONSTRUCTION. IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THAT, THE DESIGN ITSELF EVOLVES INTO AN ONGOING BUILDING PROCESS TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN THE ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION AND THE GENERAL COMMUNITY OF PANADURA.
In Sri Lanka, we are still using the traditional studio method, which is already seriously outdated and has become more and more ineffective in pandemic and post-pandemic situations. As the students became used to a false reality. So a new architectural curriculum is urgently needed. And the solution is found as a design-build program with the student's research and questionnaire.
design-build architecture educational program is a type of architecture program that teaches students how to design and build structures. These programs typically involve students working with real clients on real-world projects. This type of program can give students a valuable hands-on experience that can help them prepare for a career in architecture.
There are many different design-build architecture educational programs available, and each program has its own unique focus. Some programs focus on teaching students how to design and build sustainable structures, while others focus on teaching students how to design and build affordable housing. There are also programs that focus on teaching students how to design and build community-based projects.
